Residents of Jayanagar and JP Nagar are happy that the renovated BBMP playground at 5th Block between 10th and 11th Main roads better known as shalini ground is finally open.

The playground, now renamed to Chandragupta Maurya Playground has a new skating rink made from stones brought from Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, the 6.5 Acre ground has cricket facilities including net practice space, space for football and volleyball.
The ground now also has an Auditorium and theatre which can be used for cultural activities and competitions. The rent for the ground and auditorium will be Rs. 1500 and can be booked at the II block, BBMP office.
The Auditorium has a rainwater harvesting system installed. The cost of the renovation was Rs. 1.5 crores.
